However, our experience with Om Eye Care / Dr Agrawal Vishrantwadi has been not up to the mark to say the least right from the so called Counselor, insurance advisors to the surgery outcome.\n\nWe did my mother's cataract surgeries on 01/12/2025 & 13/12/2025. To start with the Counselor first asked me if you have Insurance and then presented me with a bouquet of lenses options (Not sharing the prices but ofcourse they were not very budget friendly). We chose the middle one for which they claimed long and intermediate vision would be corrected and my Mom would need Specs only for near vision. They also indicated that we can get atleast 50k per eye from the Insurance company. (Foolishly, I trusted them and didn't check with the insurance company).\n\nCut to the Surgeries. We were told that the surgeries went brilliantly well. My mother also felt well so we had no concerns. However the insurance company approved me only 40k total for both eyes included (stating their policy terms of a capping of 40k and only one eye per year). I felt misguided and ended up paying almost 1 Lac from my pocket despite having Insurance. My point is how come the Counselor and the Insurance advisor who deal with a minimum of 7-8 surgeries & multiple insurance companies everyday didn't know all of this? They swiftly shifted the blame on me for not having checked with the insurance company. They even charge you for the eye protection black glasses separately \ud83d\ude11\n\nThen comes the most alarming aspect. My mother followed all the precautionary steps prescribed religiously, didn't even watch mobile/TV for more than a month. However, her long distance eyesight didn't seem to correct. We kept mentioning this to the doctor in our followup visits as well but they would simply brush it off and say that it would improve in due course. They even mentioned a 6/6 vision in their report (I have it as an evidence). But when we went to the optical house for making spectacles for near vision, we came to know that he Long distance eyesight is not corrected and she still would need eye glasses for them.\n\nWhen we mentioned this to the doctor they again tried to brush it off stating every patient is different etc etc. After our multiple concerns, they provided distance vision power as well. We truly feel betrayed to some extent. Whatever be the case, wrong expectations should not have been set.
